The UltraCLAVE applications

Total Decomposition of Samples for AA and ICP, ICP-MS

Total decomposition of samples to clear, ionic solutions is extremely important in spectrochemical analysis. Reactions temperatures > 280°C are often required to achieve complete oxidation of organic compounds with complex structures or high molecular weights, (e.g., pharmaceuticals, polymers, composite materials, etc.).
High operating temperature and pressure capability make the UltraCLAVE the best technology available for decomposition of the most difficult samples.

Complete Digestion of Large Size Samples

The extremely low concentration of analytes in some matrices requires analysis of very large samples. The high operating pressure and temperature of the UltraCLAVE overcome the sample size limitations analysts encounter using other closed decomposition devices.
The UltraCLAVE allows for the complete digestion of a single sample up to 25grams. This is far in excess of any other closed vessel microwave system available today.
The UltraCLAVE allows for the complete and simultaneous digestion of 6 large-size samples in TFM or Quartz containers. Up to 5 grams organic material can be decomposed in each container.

High Throughput Performances

The UltraCLAVE allows for the complete and simultaneous digestion of up to 40 samples in PTFE or Quartz containers. Each container holds up to 300 mg of organic material. All samples are decomposed under identical temperature and pressure conditions, thus assuring complete and reproducible results.
Different sample types can be simultaneously digested in the same run. The graphic above refers to the decomposition of various biological samples.
Notice the elevated temperature (over 250°C) which led to the complete decomposition of all organic material.
