MultiFAST-4
The new Milestone MultiFAST-4 really opens a new era in microwave sample preparation: for the first time, the MultiFAST-4 enable performing fusion sample preparation by microwaves.
This represents a significant innovation and enhancement for the consolidated capabilities of ETHOS One and START D microwave units by extending their application flexibility.
A variety of difficult samples, such as cements, ores, slag, sediments, soils, feldspatic rocks, ceramics, pigments and glasses, quartz can be successfully prepared for XRF, AA and ICP analysis.

Extremely Fast Heating Rate
Thanks to the silicon carbide crucibles the Milestone MultiFAST-4 is the only microwave fusion system available on the market able to reach up to 1.000°C in only few minutes.
Full Fusion Control
With the Milestone MultiFAST-4 it is possible to control the fusion directly in all crucibles through infrared temperature sensor. With the ETHOS 1 TEMP-SURE feature all temperature profiles are displayed in real time.
Unsurpassed Ease of Use
The Milestone MultiFAST-4 allows the operator an easy and safe handling as it does not require the use of any gas.

Vacuum Evaporation
With Milestone’s unique vacuum evaporation technology, the ETHOS One and START D microwave units turn into a true microwave evaporator, allowing the user to carry out safe and complete evaporation of acids and organic solvents. No sample transfer is required, as the evaporation takes place in the same vessels previously used for digestion and extraction.
The MMR rotor is a device for conveniently heating materials in a microwave field under controlled vacuum conditions. When connected to an external vacuum supply (VAC-1000 or VAC-2000 modules), and depending on the specific configuration, the MMR rotor can be used for vacuum assisted sample drying, acid removal, volume reduction, and solvent evaporation.
This unique design provides an ideal platform for predigestion of large quantities of organic materials in near atmospheric conditions, followed by closed vessel digestion at elevated temperature.

Protein hydrolysis
The ETHOS One enables vapor phase protein hydrolysis within 30 minutes in inert, anaerobic conditions, without thermal degradation of the amino-acids, or cross contamination of the solutions. All vials are loaded in a single operation with minimal handling required.
This assures a substantial time reduction over conventional methods, which often require up to 48 hours.
All samples are processed under equivalent temperature conditions avoiding possible variations between samples and assuring precision of result.

MOD rotor for open vessel digestion
Milestone’s exclusive MOD package converts the ETHOS One to a fully automated microwave open vessel digestion system, to rapidly and safely digest multiple large amounts of organic samples, such as food, feed, pharmaceuticals, polymers, oils, etc.

 Solvent Extraction
The ETHOS One performs a wide range of solvent extraction procedures, including extraction of pesticides and PCBs from environmental samples, additives from polymers, fat from food and feed samples. Extractions are completed in 10-20 minutes, and require a fraction of the solvent volume needed by other techniques.
