Microwave Digestion

Reliable and professional sample preparation is as important as the analysis itself.
In conventional digestion procedures, the highest temperature of the acid is the boiling point of the acid itself. The time required to digest a sample is mostly a function of the temperature of acid used for reaction. In closed vessel digestion procedures the sample and the acid are added in a microwave transparent vessel. The vessel is closed and safely contained. When microwave energy is applied the pressure in the vessel increases, with a corresponding increase of the boiling point of the acid, thus dramatically reducing digestion times.
